Operations Excellence Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Quality & Lean Operations Specialist. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the execution and deployment of our site quality plan, serving as the management representative for our Quality Management System, and championing cross-functional resources to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements.
About the RoleThe Quality & Lean Operations Specialist will provide total quality leadership to customers, suppliers, partners, and all internal stakeholders with the ultimate goal of continuous improvement in process, product, and quality. You will lead our Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy, build CI competency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your responsibility will also include developing the CI plan that enables the execution of our strategic plan, impacting 5 manufacturing sites across the U.S.
Main Responsibilities:- Quality Management System: Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of our quality management system requirements, including quality system standards such as ISO 9001, IATF, PQMS, customer required standards, and any other applicable requirements.
- Audit Process: Develop and champion the internal audit process, audit schedule, train cross-functional team members, facilitate internal audit execution, prepare outcome summary, and lead corrective actions/continuous improvement.
- Customer Interface: Act as a voice of the customer and primary contact for external and internal customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, including customer complaint resolution and corrective/preventive actions.
- Supply Chain Management: Manage the Quality/Customer interface to proactively assure customer requirements are understood, incorporated in processes/procedures, satisfied, and validated.
- Lean Implementation: Identify high-priority areas for improvement from annual plant-level value stream mapping to ensuring CI efforts are aligned and fully support strategic goals.
- Training and Development: Build CI organizational capability and develop local CI tool champions by providing leadership, training, and support.
- Quality Assurance: Responsible for driving quality management systems and manufacturing compliance to agency requirements, improving the cost of non-conformance, and leading teams to reduce customer complaints.
- Auditing and Compliance: Audit plant processes to ensure both internal and external regulations and standards are being adhered to and kept up-to-date.
- Education: Associates Degree in an appropriate discipline; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, quality, engineering, and/or operational excellence.
- Skills: Experience with QA processes/standards, problem-solving methods (Lean, 8-D root cause analysis, and associated tools), knowledge of safety requirements and legal standards, significant knowledge of quality system requirements, and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
This is a salaried position with a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
$90,000 - $100,000 per year based on qualifications and experience.
