Prevention and Education Coordinator

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for the Office of the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination, the Prevention and Education Coordinator performs highly complex professional Student Services work. The incumbent is responsible for designing, coordinating, evaluating, advising, and implementing comprehensive programming, initiatives, strategies, and campaigns to raise awareness and prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual misconduct/sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and stalking.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement community-wide or audience-specific programming, initiatives, and strategies to increase audience knowledge and share information and resources to prevent violence, reduce perpetration, promote safety, and establish social norms that support health and safety.
- Oversee all aspects of program development and event planning, including supervising and advising student assistants and student leaders in their programmatic and operational duties.
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders to promote a culture of respect and safety, and to develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent and respond to incidents of violence and harassment.
- Provide training and education to students, faculty, and staff on topics related to prevention and education, including bystander intervention, healthy relationships, and consent.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and organizations to promote collaboration and resource sharing on prevention and education initiatives.
- Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Four years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience, including experience in advising students individually and in groups, and in analysis and resolution of complex student services problems.
- Experience with project management, higher education, and working with student personnel is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite is required.
This is a full-time, exempt position that leads toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period. The starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and will not exceed $6,019 a month. This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation, and sick leave.
