Critical Care Paramedic

Covenant Health is seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Paramedic to join our team. As a Critical Care Paramedic, you will provide direct care to patients with medical emergencies and other acute illnesses and/or injuries in the pre-hospital and interfacility settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emergent and critical care interventions for various injuries and illnesses.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients and provide high-quality medical decision-making and care.
- Utilize EMS telecommunications for coordination and information exchange with EMS dispatchers, medical facilities, and other system users.
- Report essential information concerning the patient, the patient's medical condition, and treatment to medical personnel who assume responsibility for continuing care.
- Ensure Patient Care Reports (PCRs) and other documentation are complete and timely, as per company policy.
- Adhere to the Covenant Health EMS dress code while on duty.
- Clean and maintain vehicles and facilities daily, including routine daily maintenance checks and record results on the vehicle maintenance checklist.
- Facilitate scheduling needs, equipment and supply maintenance, and other daily operational support functions as assigned by the EMS Manager and EMS Director.
- Ensure daily narcotic logs are in order and vehicle checks (on-board supplies/equipment) are completed.
- Support other programs and divisions within the Covenant EMS System as able.
- Remain up to date on all regulatory training (clinical, non-clinical, CME, etc.) and ensure that all certifications are uploaded into the appropriate systems.
- Coordinate and work with the EMS Manager and/or EMS Medical Director to develop specific and deliberate training plans as needed.
- Complete all mandatory Covenant Health training, mandatory Covenant Health EMS in-service training, as well as additional independent training to meet State of Tennessee minimal continuing education requirements.
- Prepare reports and manage projects as assigned by the EMS Manager.
- Coordinate with EMS Manager, the EMS Director, and the Covenant Health IT Team to facilitate and manage all aspects of IT, including computer maintenance and system account setup for team members.
- Responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Two (2) years full-time experience as a paramedic or experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
- TN Critical Care Paramedic certification.
- International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) Community Paramedic Certification.
- ACLS and BLS Required.
- Valid driver's license and state-mandated minimum insurance coverage.
- Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
