Great American Insurance Group has enhanced its E&S capabilities by merging two successful business units, Specialty E&S and American Empire, to create Great American Risk Solutions. This dynamic operation is dedicated to the wholesale brokerage market, offering industry-leading non-admitted property and casualty products through wholesale brokers on an excess and surplus basis.
Great American Risk Solutions is currently seeking a Financial Analysis Specialist to become a vital part of the finance team. This role will operate on a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct financial models to assess the impact of new business ventures, capital expenditures, market dynamics, or reinsurance strategies.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and planning processes for the business unit, including forecasting premiums, expenses, staffing requirements, and operational metrics.
- Perform complex financial analyses to evaluate monthly cost and profitability performance.
- Identify trends and developments within competitive landscapes and communicate findings to senior management.
- Develop analytical tools to aid management in decision-making, including sensitivity and scenario analyses.
- Provide technical guidance to junior staff and other departments.
- May oversee the work of others, including mentoring, prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and reviewing assignments.
- Conduct special financial projects or studies for management.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Field of Study: Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Experience: Typically requires 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including 2 to 3 years in the insurance sector. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and/or a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) along with insurance-related certifications (such as Program in General Insurance (INS), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), etc.) are preferred.
