Role Summary

As a Wireless Stability Engineer, Cellular at Apple, you will be responsible for developing and executing system overall stability tests on Apple products. You will be hands-on, relying upon diagnostics, analytics, lab/field experimentations to exploit the opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and patent the next generation of our state-of-the-art connectivity technologies.
  • Collaborate across departments to help craft wireless solutions that elevate the customer experience with Apple products and services.
  • Work with platform architecture, standardization, firmware/protocol development, system test & carrier engineering teams to drive improvement proposals and baseband optimizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills: 5G, LTE, UMTS, CDMA, or GSM, MTBF, Stability Testing, Automation tools, test suits, or execution, Knowledge in testing the cellular protocols, Experience in operating simulators, Access Stratum, Non-Access Stratum, 3GPP and ETSI standard.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with testing cellular technologies such as 5G NR FR1 and mmW, LTE, IMS.
  • Deep understanding of Cellular Protocol stack, SQA methodologies & practices.
  • Experience in developing test strategies, test plans and executing it with automation or manual testing is critical.
  • Automation experience and knowledge of modern scripting or compiled languages (Python, Obj-C, Swift).
  • Outstanding communication skills vital to collaborate with multi-functional teams.
  • An analytical, methodical, and creative problem solver committed to driving quality forward.

What We Offer

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
