About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Valmont Industries. As a key member of our galvanizing operations, you will be responsible for supervising a small work group of maintenance personnel and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance personnel to meet safety, quality, and operations requirements
  • Test, inspect, repair, and reassemble plant equipment and components, including overhead bridge cranes, hoists, gearboxes, and electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Perform high-skilled electrical work, including reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical diagrams
  • Fabricate fixtures using welding, cutting, brazing, and surface hardening applications
  • Communicate effectively with other maintenance and production team members, vendors, and outside contractors
  • Define and monitor performance standards for assigned personnel, complete employee performance reviews, and take corrective action as necessary
  • Operate gauging equipment, including tape measures, micrometers, and dial calipers
  • Must be company-trained and authorized to operate and train others on powered industrial trucks, forklifts, aerial platforms, and bridge cranes
  • Must be company-trained and authorized to train others on arc flash safety, hot work, confined space entry, hazardous energy control, and fall protection
Requirements
  • Two to five years of related experience and/or training in maintenance and repair of galvanizing equipment
  • Strong background knowledge of 480-volt, 3-phase electricity
  • Ability to work from heights using equipment such as high-reach
  • Proven supervisory skills and strong leadership with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
