We are seeking a skilled Loan Consultant for our Tappahannock office.

This role operates under the guidance of the Loan Operations Supervisor and is responsible for various loan and accounting activities related to processing, closing, and servicing loans in accordance with Farm Credit protocols. Additional administrative duties include managing phone inquiries, welcoming clients, addressing common questions, and directing callers to appropriate personnel or resources.

This position collaborates closely with relationship managers (loan officers), overseeing all facets of loan closings post-approval and ensuring effective loan servicing, which includes managing payments, disbursements, and preparing necessary documentation.

Clear communication with legal representatives and borrowers is essential.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Current Notary Public commission or application in process upon hiring
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and grammatical skills
  • Acceptable background checks (credit, criminal, driving, and drug testing)
  • Familiarity with TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule (TRID) requirements (preferred)
  • Understanding of Farm Credit operations (preferred)
  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree from a community or business college preferred
  • Experience as a real estate paralegal or in mortgage compliance (preferred)
