The AESC Group is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of high-performance batteries for zero-emission electric vehicles and energy storage systems. We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our team in Florence, South Carolina.
This role involves designing, programming, and maintaining PLC-based control systems within a high-volume automated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics, as well as experience with Siemens & Omron PLCs.
In this position, you will develop and implement control system programs, modify and create PLC and HMI programs for improved system functionality, diagnose and resolve advanced issues in mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic subsystems on highly automated production lines, and optimize robotics functionality, pathing, and integration.
You will also manage electrical maintenance from low voltage to 480V, 3-phase motor control circuits, ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, lead initiatives to enhance system safety, and advocate a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices and compliance.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, and have 3-5 years of experience in Controls Engineering or Maintenance Controls. They will be proficient in computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), have excellent communication and collaboration skills, and be able to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
