Sullivan Street Bakery General Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Manager to lead the daily operations of our Sullivan Street Bakery cafes in Manhattan. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, maintaining a focus on guest satisfaction, and ensuring the overall success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of our cafes, ensuring seamless execution of our business strategies.
  • Guest Experience: Foster a culture of exceptional customer service, driving sales growth through proactive hospitality and recovering challenging guest interactions.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team of cashiers, baristas, and floor managers, providing training and development opportunities to ensure their success.
  • Inventory Management: Order and maintain an inventory of all necessary supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Cash Management and POS Maintenance: Manage cash handling and POS systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions.
  • DOH Standards and Procedures: Maintain compliance with Department of Health standards and procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment for our guests.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with the Director of Operations to implement, monitor, and fine-tune strategic initiatives, driving top and bottom line growth.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Prior Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in food and beverage customer service and management.
  • Management Experience: Proven track record of managing teams, including training, staffing, and personnel management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, guests, and stakeholders.
  • Availability: Availability to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
