Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced part-time Accountant to become a vital part of our team in the healthcare sector. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or business.

The part-time Accountant will oversee a variety of accounting and financial responsibilities, ensuring precision, compliance, and fiscal health within the organization.

This position requires a combination of accounting expertise, financial insight, and strategic thought.

Initially, this role may involve up to 25 hours per week, with the potential for increased hours and responsibilities as skills develop.

We offer flexibility in scheduling for the right candidate, with a typical workday consisting of four hours in the office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive General Ledger (GL) and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and evaluate income statements, pinpointing discrepancies or areas for financial enhancement.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring accurate recording of all business dealings.
  • Assist in developing and managing the annual budget, collaborating with department heads to meet financial objectives.
  • Accurately record all financial transactions in a timely manner.
  • Provide specialized accounting services in the healthcare sector, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Oversee grant management, ensuring efficient handling of all financial aspects.
  • Lead the year-end closing process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the balance sheet, identifying potential issues and implementing necessary solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or a student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in non-profit accounting is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with GL, General Ledger Reconciliation, income statements, intercompany transactions, annual budget preparation, and healthcare accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, manage complex projects, and meet deadlines.
  • High integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
