Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician V to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. This is a waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization position, working within shipyards and drydocks onboard U.S. Naval ships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, troubleshoot, modify, construct, and test electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and related devices.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles to put equipment in operational condition and solve complex problems.
  • Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Modify circuitry to improve performance.
  • Make recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems.
  • Provide operation and maintenance instruction to customer personnel.
  • Prepare operating and malfunction reports and related documentation.
  • Work with engineering staff to determine and solve equipment design problems.
  • Perform quality assurance testing of assemblies and equipment fabricated by other technicians.
  • Provide work leadership to less-experienced technicians, and may have supervisory responsibility.
  • Participate in special projects, as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Associates of Arts/Associates of Science.
  • Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience.
  • Security Clearance Level: None.
  • Location: Customer Site.
  • US Citizenship Required.
