Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Conveyor Systems Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient functionality of conveyor systems within the organization. This role encompasses the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyor systems and other mechanical equipment on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Identify and resolve equipment issues while executing necessary maintenance tasks.
    • Utilize expertise in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to maintain and repair various distribution and facility equipment, including conveyor systems, automated storage and retrieval systems, cranes, variable frequency drives, gearboxes, and belts.
    • Ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems by performing preventative maintenance on conveyors, programmable controllers, transformers, and machinery wiring, adhering to electrical codes and specifications.
    • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems by inspecting malfunctioning equipment, such as transformers and motors, and determining faulty wiring.
    • Conduct routine maintenance using hand and power tools, electric meters, and materials handling equipment.
  • General Building Maintenance: Oversee and perform general maintenance tasks to ensure facilities are in optimal condition.
    • Manage and repair general facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing, painting, and lighting, to maintain operational integrity.
  • Equipment Installation: Set specifications for new machinery and equipment.
    • Install new machines by connecting power supply wiring and conduit, utilizing hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to work at heights and in challenging environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Capable of multitasking and working independently or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification as a Maintenance and Reliability Technician is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary at times and operate a computer and telephone.
  • Comfortable working at heights of up to 25 feet.
  • Ability to work in high-temperature environments.

Competencies:

  • Accountability for results impacting departmental performance.
  • Ability to select the best options from established procedures using experience and common sense.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 3 PM until completion.

Compensation: $3,000 sign-on bonus available.
