Speech-Language Pathologist Opportunity in Denver, CO

We are seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in a center-based program serving students with intellectual disabilities in the Denver, CO area.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students from Kindergarten to 5th grade, ensuring their communication needs are met in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address students' speech and language goals as per their IEPs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to optimize students' communication skills within the school environment.
  • Participate in IEP meetings to discuss students' progress and recommendations for ongoing therapy.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
  • Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and other assistive technologies used by students with disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet the diverse needs of students with intellectual disabilities.
