Job Overview

FSM Group is seeking a Aviation Equipment Painter to join our dedicated team in the Aviation Equipment Refurbishment sector. This role involves painting and refurbishing aviation equipment while ensuring adherence to high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize spray painting techniques on metal, composite, and plastic components within a controlled environment.
  • Prepare and mix paints and primers according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Mask surfaces as per technical drawings and requirements.
  • Prepare surfaces through sanding, cleaning, and media blasting as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of spray equipment and ensure proper functioning of paint booths and curing ovens.
  • Conduct in-process inspections, document results, and maintain accurate records.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety regulations at all times.
  • Prepare and clean equipment prior to painting.
  • Execute painting tasks to meet specified quality standards.
  • Assemble equipment as required.
  • Manage inventory of paints, thinners, and assembly hardware.
  • Assist with other production tasks in the fabrication area when necessary.
  • Paint industrial equipment utilizing various techniques and maintain HVLP and conventional paint equipment.
  • Set spray parameters according to specifications for each part.
  • Fulfill responsibilities to meet the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to reliably commute to the workplace.
  • Capability to operate a forklift for moving equipment.
  • Proficient in paint spray techniques with the ability to apply paint evenly.
  • Knowledge of paint booth operations, humidity control, and drying times.
  • Understanding of proper spray techniques and maintenance of spray guns.
  • Ability to read and interpret paint specifications accurately.
  • Experience with various paint systems, including enamels, polyurethanes, epoxies, and lacquers.
  • Ability to work effectively in both team and independent settings.
  • Occasional lifting/moving of up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
