About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Georgia-Pacific. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex industrial machinery and equipment
  • Install and align new equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication and inspection, to prevent downtime and improve overall equipment reliability
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including labor hours and critical findings
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify and prioritize maintenance needs
  • Contribute to the achievement of production and quality goals by optimizing equipment performance and reducing waste
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
Requirements
  • At least one year of experience in a mechanical maintenance position within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience using cutting torches and arc welders
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
  • Experience reading and understanding mechanical drawings
  • Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps, and lubrication
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing company with a focus on mechanical and reliability maintenance
  • Two-year technical degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance Technology or a similar program
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience in precision maintenance practices, such as lubrication, alignment techniques, and precision measuring
