Job Summary

ACTS-Aviation Security Inc is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Aviation Security Specialist to join our team. As an Aviation Security Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our nation's air transportation network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas of the airport, including the terminal and surrounding areas.
  • Conduct thorough screening of employees, vendors, visitors, and their belongings using x-ray machines, hand-held wands, and/or magnetometers.
  • Inspect vehicles at perimeter access points to the airport's secured areas.
  • Monitor vehicles to ensure they have airfield permits and issue temporary permits as necessary.
  • Drive a personal vehicle to rotate among five different posts at the airport.
  • Conduct random employee/vendor screening and visual inspection of belongings.
  • Perform access control duties at employee checkpoints.
  • Monitor and secure passenger exit lanes inside the airport terminal.
  • Manage curbside traffic, including pedestrian management.
  • Perform foot patrols at the terminal parking lot, perimeter of the airport, and concourses.
  • Provide escorts and security for construction of runways, taxiways, and terminals/concourses.
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Prepare incident/occurrence reports for any incident or event that directly involves customer complaints/concerns, safety/security, or operational issues/events.
  • Report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.
  • Handle security issues or emergency situations appropriately.
  • Complete security/safety training programs.
  • Participate in industry-specific security/safety training programs to offer our clients the best-trained security guards at their airports.
  • Post-training, be knowledgeable of and compliant with airport-specific operations performance manual and post orders.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous contract security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Proof of ability to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Able to pass Company background check.
  • Able to pass Airport background check per Transportation Security Administration requirements for a SIDA badge (Security Identification Display Area).
  • Able to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Aviation Security Guards where and when applicable.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
  • Interpersonal and communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable attendance.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position, including being physically capable of standing or walking an entire shift, able to lift 25 pounds, climb into a truck or trailer, bending, stooping, and crouching to view areas of a vehicle.
