Job Summary

The Business Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial and management reporting, analysis, forecasting, and budgeting processes for their designated region. This role is a key member of the Sparrow Inc team, working closely with division and plant managers to provide financial support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acts as primary financial support to the operating locations within the division, providing timely and accurate financial information to management.
  • Assists with purchasing, inventory, and other transactional issues that may arise, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the preparation and review of financial information, including monthly closing, forecast updates, capital and operating budget preparation.
  • Conducts operational benchmarking and monthly performance analysis, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize financial performance.
  • Supports special projects and ad-hoc report requests related to sales, purchasing, working capital, and operating expenses.
  • Analyzes plant and division balance sheet accounts, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Maintains and assesses the system of internal controls, participating in the self-assessment process and periodic inventory observations.
  • Performs journal entries, maintains product inventory values within SAP, generates payments, and reviews fixed asset transactions.
  • Trains and assists division personnel in utilizing company reporting systems to obtain key management information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA, CMA, or CFM designation or strong candidacy preferred.
  • 2+ years of financial management experience, with industry experience a plus.
  • Experience in financial analysis and special projects.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in SAP and PC-based applications.
  • Strong Excel skills and current knowledge of financial accounting concepts.
  • Diplomacy and leadership skills, with the ability to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work independently, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
