Principal Project Manager

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced project manager to oversee high-risk projects that require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee high-risk projects from original concept through final implementation, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Assemble and manage multifunctional matrixed project teams across business platforms, coordinating team efforts and assigning tasks.
- Develop detailed project plans, project schedules, and ensure timelines are met, managing the planning, design, and construction of multiple large-scale capital projects.
- Establish, track, and control project cost, scope, schedule, and risk, delivering assigned projects within approved scope, budget, and schedule.
- Interface with external customers throughout the project life cycle, providing project progress reports to management and other stakeholders.
- Negotiate with vendors and contractors regarding work scope changes, ensuring all contract commitments are completed on time.
- Manage construction management team activities, coordinating with field operations and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years related professional experience, with proficiency in project scheduling, cost controls, tracking, and reporting methodologies.
- Knowledge of financial principles to quantify costs and benefits of projects and track and maintain project budgets.
- Proficient in the application of Project Management Institute project management techniques or equivalent.
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated business management skills, including consulting skills, customer service, and business acumen.
- Ten years related professional experience, with understanding of environmental regulations, National Environmental Protection Act, environmental impact statement, environmental assessment, State Historical Preservation Office, United States Army Corp of Engineers, etc.
- Master's in Business Administration or advanced technical degree, with current Professional Engineer License and Project Management Professional certification by the Project Management Institute.
- Working knowledge of SAP in cost tracking and forecasting, Primavera scheduling, or other project management software, and experience in electric utility design and/or construction.
