Job Summary:

ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Lead to serve as an engineering technical advisor to the Director. This individual will lead engineering disciplines in the Pacific District and ensure a trained and ready staff for project/program execution.

This role will support new project/program proposals and recommend engineer assignments. The Senior Technical Lead will perform engineering tasks on multiple projects and make decisions and recommendations that are considered authoritative and have an important impact on engineering discipline design decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply sound and diversified knowledge of discipline engineering principles and practices in broad areas of project assignments.
  • Provide leadership to the engineering design teams as the technical design leader and lead the design team(s) on technical issues on medium and large complex projects.
  • Provide input to Project Managers and technical management concerning potential process and design.
  • Maintain a high level of technical expertise in one or more engineering disciplines by identifying individual training needs and scheduling appropriate training programs.
  • Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key engineers and officials in other organizations to confirm that engineering practices applied are consistent with current engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and current technological innovations.
  • Lead training and development of other engineers to provide technical guidance and training related to engineering design and code compliance issues around engineering expertise.
  • Maintain, implement, and monitor a system of quality control consistent with ENTRUST's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a collaborative spirit in working with other technical leads, district and regional leaders, and other Business Units providing the most optimum engineering teams.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer - CA registration a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited university
  • 12+ years of relevant work experience
  • Working knowledge of P&ID
  • In-depth knowledge of HAC and be able to develop a HAC designation
  • Must understand grounding and how to layout grounding at a site
  • Working ability to develop one line and three line diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Ability to layout raceways, wireways, conduit, duct banks and cable trays
  • Working knowledge of Transformers, MCC and Switchgears
  • Industrial design experience and knowledge of electrical equipment
  • Ability to perform Load flow, short circuit and understand motor starting concept
  • Thorough knowledge of protective relays
  • Experience developing technical specifications for equipment
  • Working knowledge of NEC

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of ETAP, SKM software for Arc Flash studies is a plus
