Job Summary

VHB is seeking a highly experienced Geomatics Survey Crew Chief to lead our Maine Survey team. As a key member of our Geomatics service team, you will be responsible for supervising and guiding geomatics staff to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Formulate workflow plans to complete various types of geomatics projects, including boundary, topographic, control, construction, ALTA/NSPS, engineering, and As-Built/post construction surveys.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise members of the geomatics/survey crew, guiding and redirecting staff to stay on course with budget and schedule.
  • Field Operations: Oversee field operations surveys, ensuring accurate layout and measurement of land surfaces.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
  • Communication: Communicate with the public as needed and document all phases of work through field notes, daily reports, and other project documentation.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1+ year of geomatics land surveying crew chief experience.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED; degree in Geomatics, Survey Engineering, or Engineering preferred.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge and extensive experience in the field using surveying equipment; experience using various survey and/or reality capture software; solid knowledge of geomatics mathematics and geomatics data collection principles, practices, methods, and procedures.
