ECMO Specialist - Intensive Care Cardiovascular TherapistAbout the Role

We are seeking an experienced ECMO Specialist to join our team at Ascension Sacred Heart. This is a full-time night shift position, working 3, 12-hour shifts per week from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The ideal candidate will have experience in operating extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) equipment and performing ECMO therapy according to physician orders.

Responsibilities
  • Operate ECMO equipment and perform ECMO therapy according to physician orders.
  • Monitor pump functioning throughout patient therapy and maintain pump integrity.
  • Monitor circuit volume and administer products, medications, and/or volumes as ordered.
  • Monitor anticoagulation, electrolyte, acid-base balance, and blood-gas composition values and adjust ECMO circuit to maintain physician's orders.
  • Generate and compile appropriate documentation and charges related to ECMO.
  • Precept new ECMO team members.
Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within one month of hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following: Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing, Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care, or Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care.

You must also have high school diploma equivalency with two years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or four years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $83,000, based on industry standards and market conditions in Pensacola, FL.
