Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Baylor Scott & White Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting detailed clinical assessments, and creating care plans to achieve desired outcomes.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, working 36 hours per week, with a 12-hour night shift schedule. You will be part of a dynamic team that prioritizes patient safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs
  • Create, implement, and evaluate care plans to achieve desired outcomes
  • Build relationships with patients, families, and staff to provide therapeutic connections
  • Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly to ensure effective care delivery
  • Use problem-solving strategies to address patient and family needs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures
  • Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area
  • Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects
  • Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing
  • Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking
  • Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email
