The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Information Technology Center (NITC) is in search of a dynamic and driven professional to take on the role of Cybersecurity Compliance Officer. This position involves collaboration with a team of experienced Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) to deliver robust cybersecurity operations, continuous monitoring, and comprehensive audit support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct thorough technical and non-technical internal audits and assessments utilizing industry-standard and Department of Defense tools to ensure compliance with system and operational requirements.
  • Document, organize, and implement necessary security control measures.
  • Identify existing and emerging risks, develop vulnerability test plans, and coordinate testing and reporting procedures.
  • Assess the effectiveness of implemented security measures to confirm their adequacy in safeguarding against current and future threats.
  • Engage in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) related to potential cybersecurity incidents and vulnerability management, enhancing understanding of incidents to facilitate corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Provide cybersecurity expertise and collaborative support to program and project managers, customers, the Information Technology (IT) Department, and other functional support teams.
  • Create, update, and maintain presentations, reports, system/network diagrams, instructions, and other documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
  • Security+, CASP+, and/or CISSP certification (or equivalent) is required or must be obtained within six months of employment.
