Job Summary:

The OR Technician is responsible for providing support to the surgical team during operative procedures. This includes preparing the operating room, setting up equipment, and assisting the surgeon and other medical staff as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Assists the surgeon and other medical staff during operative procedures, including passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Monitors the operating room environment to ensure a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Assists with the preparation and transportation of patients to and from the operating room.
  • Maintains accurate records of surgical procedures and patient information.
  • Collaborates with other members of the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist training program or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in a surgical setting, including experience as an OR Technician.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) preferred.

Working Conditions:

The OR Technician works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to blood and bodily fluids. The position requires standing for long periods, lifting heavy equipment, and working in a sterile environment. The OR Technician must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with other medical staff.
