SUMMARY: This role involves utilizing pharmacy expertise and adhering to Ohio regulations and company protocols to ensure the prompt and precise delivery of oral medications to patients. Key responsibilities include the technical aspects of medication dispensing within our retail pharmacy, such as: employing pharmacy systems to input patient and medication data, verifying the accuracy of information, measuring and dispensing pharmaceutical products, confirming medication correctness, and efficiently processing claims and prior authorizations. High-quality patient care and optimal resource utilization are achieved through collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, which typically includes pharmacists, oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, and physicians.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, on-site role. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM (no holidays or weekends).

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in retail pharmacy operations under the supervision of a pharmacist, in compliance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
- Support the pharmacy's preparation for accreditation with relevant agencies (e.g., NCODA, ACHC, URAC) by aiding in the development of Policies and Procedures (P&Ps) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide education to staff, including pharmacists, regarding updates and changes to P&Ps and SOPs.
- Handle prior authorizations for all oral oncolytic medications and assist pharmacists and healthcare providers with the appeals process as necessary.
- Timely processing (correction and resubmission) of electronic and manual claims for third-party prescription services, along with performing other assigned clerical tasks.
- Initiate medication assistance programs when it is identified that an oral medication may impose an undue financial burden on the patient. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Exploring available grant funding (e.g., Pan-Cancer or Pan-tumor funds) in accordance with Medicare Part D billing.
- Utilizing Co-Pay cards in compliance with non-Medicare billing.
Required Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification.
- Licensure as a Pharmacy Technician under the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
Desired Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician, with at least 6 months in an oncology specialty role.
