Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian Specialist is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for planning and administering activities related to resident/patient nutrition care. This role requires a strong understanding of nutrition care processes and the ability to lead effective multidisciplinary relationships within the clinical specialty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scope of practice may include In-Patients and/or Out-Patients.
  • Develop and implement plans for nutrition intervention in accordance with the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Conduct patient nutrition assessments, prioritizing care within the Specialty Certification practice area.
  • Assess educational needs and provide nutrition counseling for individuals and groups, adapting teaching methods to meet patient learning needs.
  • Use assessment and evaluation techniques that consider the needs of age-specific populations and cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns.
  • Provide follow-ups in accordance with patient treatment goals, referring patients for outpatient counseling or community services as needed.
  • Partner with medical professionals to meet objectives and find innovative ways to shorten hospital lengths of stay and minimize readmission rates.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of nutrition care plans, including assessment, diagnosis, plan, implementation, and progress toward goals.
  • Ensure clinical efficiency standards and accurate record keeping of daily clinical activities.
Qualifications
  • Two years' experience working in Nutritional Support.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 24 months of clinical practice experience in the specialty field.
  • Current Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) credential.
  • Maintain dietetic registration, state-required credentials, and continuing education requirements.
