Nuclear Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Project Manager to join our team at ACS Professional Staffing. As a Nuclear Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects independently, leading teams of over ten on complex multidisciplinary tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance.
  • Oversee all aspects of project implementation, including budget management, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, industrial and nuclear safety, clearance order preparation, work prioritization, resource loading, risk management, and work execution.
  • Resolve schedule delays and conflicts, ensuring smooth project progression.
  • Develop and track project budgets, ensuring alignment with cost and resource projections.
  • Interface frequently with clients, engineers, related parties, and management to ensure proper progress and focus.
  • Develop and manage contracts, maintaining effective vendor relationships.
  • Create project schedules aligned with project complexity and size, managing risk, tracking progress, enforcing accountability, and overseeing critical path and float.
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups, including senior management.
  • Develop and maintain long-range plan strategies for assigned projects.
  • Support effective implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
  • Provide outage support, including involvement in the Outage Control Center (OCC).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university and 14 years of experience in a technical field;
  • OR AA/AS degree and 16 years of experience in a technical field;
  • OR High School Diploma or GED and 18 years of experience in a technical field.
  • Advanced degree in a related field of study or business may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Project Management certification is required.
  • Advanced degree in a related field of study or business.
  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related field.
  • RO/SRO License or CGS Management Certificate.
  • Construction Management Certificate.
  • Extensive experience as a direct supervisor or project manager in the commercial nuclear industry, focusing on maintenance, operations, engineering, or construction.
  • Experience in nuclear plant operator production coordination and work management for plant production.
  • Proficient in error reduction, human performance improvement methods, and cost-effective work execution methodologies.
  • Experience managing complex projects, on-line work management, or refueling and forced outage-related activities.
