Responsibilities
As a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a physician. Your duties will include obtaining medical histories, performing physical exams, diagnosing and treating chronic diseases, ordering diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications. You will also provide preventive health screenings and immunizations, promote positive lifestyle habits, and assist doctors with office surgeries.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a Master's degree in nursing, certification as a Nurse Practitioner, and a certificate of fitness through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. You will also need 3-5 years of clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting and 1-3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an acute or primary care setting. You must be licensed as an RN in the state of TN and licensed as a CRNP in the state of TN.
