Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Right of Way Spec Spv 2 to join our team at GeorgiaGov. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and guiding the work assignments of subordinate staff, providing real estate services for the settlement, acquisition, or condemnation of property for right of way, and negotiating and closing complex property settlements and appraisals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise real estate duties in the District Office.
  • Approve cost estimates and settlements and perform last contacts/team appeals.
  • Assign parcel negotiations, appraisals, and train lower level Right of Way Specialist.
  • Perform project management from pre-acquisition to certification.
  • Work with property management, surplus properties, and relocation, to ensure that these activities are completed.
  • Assist with local government activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years of related experience.
  • State Certified General Real Property Appraiser.
  • Registered Real Property Appraiser, or State Certified Real Property Appraiser (CR).
  • Appraisal Class Curriculum Groups A, B, C, D, & E; 2,500 appraisal hours (1,000 Appraisal specific).
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as it relates to areas of: Real Estate, Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Management, Statistics, Information Systems, Managerial Sciences, Risk Management, Insurance, Transportation, Transportation Planning, or Transportation Engineering.
  • Ability to recognize and interpret symbols, lines, and other information shown on plans, profiles and maps as related to simple right-of-way activities.
  • Knowledge of real estate, property appraisal, or negotiation (e.g., acquired through experience or completion of formal courses in these areas).
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. The candidate must also be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
