Job Summary

TriCities Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team. As a Float Pool RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in various nursing units, including Intensive Care/ICU, Emergency Room (ER), Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Step-Down, Behavioral Health, and Outpatient Surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical management of patients and ensure satisfaction of customers (patients, visitors, physicians, and other staff members)
  • Participate in Quality Management activities and promote cost-effective unit operations
  • Document nursing care in Meditech
  • Assist in the orientation of new personnel and identify developmental needs of the unit and nursing department

Requirements

  • Current license from the Virginia Board of Nursing (or multi-state compact license with eligibility to practice in Virginia)
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred
  • At least two years of previous nursing experience in an acute care facility required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
