Position Summary:
This role presents a unique opportunity to spearhead a new initiative within our hospitalist division, focusing on the establishment of an advanced practice team. We seek a motivated individual to collaborate closely with our Director of Advanced Practice and the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Physician team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the leadership and coordination of advanced healthcare services for a designated patient demographic, working in partnership with medical professionals.
- Oversee the activities of nurse practitioners and physician assistants within specific clinical areas.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of clinical practices in conjunction with Quality Management.
- Monitor the performance and documentation of care provided by Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, fostering effective inter-staff relationships to meet patient care needs.
- Provide clinical oversight, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations, in alignment with departmental policies.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, ensuring a smooth integration into the team.
- Facilitate the creation of policies and procedures that adhere to established healthcare standards.
- Demonstrate effective leadership and problem-solving skills, guiding staff to enhance their professional development.
- Engage in discussions regarding quality metrics and patient feedback, implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
- Act as a liaison among nursing, medical staff, and quality management to promote organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field with completion of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- A minimum of four years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required; supervisory experience is preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
- Must be registered and certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Maryland.
- Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, PALS, and NRP as applicable to the practice area.
