Position Summary:
This role presents a unique opportunity to spearhead a new initiative within our hospitalist division, focusing on the establishment of an advanced practice team. We seek a motivated individual to collaborate closely with our Director of Advanced Practice and the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Physician team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the leadership and coordination of advanced healthcare services for a designated patient demographic, working in partnership with medical professionals.
  2. Oversee the activities of nurse practitioners and physician assistants within specific clinical areas.
  3. Contribute to the development and enhancement of clinical practices in conjunction with Quality Management.
  4. Monitor the performance and documentation of care provided by Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, fostering effective inter-staff relationships to meet patient care needs.
  5. Provide clinical oversight, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations, in alignment with departmental policies.
  6. Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, ensuring a smooth integration into the team.
  7. Facilitate the creation of policies and procedures that adhere to established healthcare standards.
  8. Demonstrate effective leadership and problem-solving skills, guiding staff to enhance their professional development.
  9. Engage in discussions regarding quality metrics and patient feedback, implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
  10. Act as a liaison among nursing, medical staff, and quality management to promote organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field with completion of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • A minimum of four years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required; supervisory experience is preferred.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Must be registered and certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Maryland.
  • Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, PALS, and NRP as applicable to the practice area.
