Reporting to the Director of Financial Accounting, the ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of equity plan management, expertise in revenue recognition, and a robust foundation in general accounting principles.
This role involves collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the company's equity compensation programs, which include:
Maintaining the equity management system by ensuring precise records of all equity transactions related to RSUs, ISOs, NQOs, and internal share offerings.
Executing daily operations related to stock activities, such as processing stock issuances, managing vesting schedules, facilitating company repurchases, and handling employee purchases.Collaborating with HR, Payroll, and external CPA and Legal teams on all aspects of employee share-based compensation.
Providing support for ad-hoc and periodic reporting on stock activities and addressing equity-related inquiries from employees, managers, and external vendors.
Managing the equity plan budget and forecasts throughout the fiscal year.Staying informed on regulatory changes and market trends concerning stock administration and equity compensation.
Supervising revenue recognition practices in alignment with the ASC 606 Revenue Recognition standard, which includes:
Identifying contract performance obligations and selecting the appropriate revenue recognition method.
Gathering supporting documentation and inputs from key stakeholders.
Reviewing and approving proposed revenue recognition methods with the Financial Accounting team.
Working with stakeholders to ensure revenue formulas are accurately configured within the accounting system in accordance with contractual obligations and revenue determinations.
Reviewing monthly revenue calculations for precision, investigating discrepancies, and providing resolutions to key stakeholders.Enhancing processes, workflows, and internal controls related to equity administration and revenue recognition.
Assisting in the preparation and compilation of the company's financial statements and accompanying notes as they pertain to equity compensation and revenue recognition.
Performing additional duties as assigned within the Financial Accounting team, which may include:Supporting the preparation and recording of reclassifying adjusting journal entries monthly.
Assisting with monthly reconciliations for various general ledger accounts.
Helping with the entry and posting of journal entries to the general ledger.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in equity administration or a related field, including expertise in restricted stock units (RSUs), incentive stock options (ISOs), and non-qualified stock options (NQOs).
Proven experience in determining appropriate Revenue Recognition treatment under ASC-606.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders, including employees, managers, and external vendors.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively under tight deadlines.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills, with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of the accounting team.
Proficiency in equity administration software (preferably Shareworks) and Microsoft Excel.
Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation is preferred.
Experience with Deltek Costpoint financial applications is a plus.
This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance, which necessitates U.S. citizenship.
