The Kings Community Action Organization is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Associate Teacher to join our team. As an Associate Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing educational experiences for children and parents in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and setting up the classroom environment to meet the needs of each child.
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans that reflect the goals of the curriculum and the individual needs of the children.
- Ensure classroom safety by completing all required licensing documents and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Provide a positive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes children's learning and development.
- Organize and supervise activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
- Assist with the daily health checks and safety checklists.
- Work with the Lead Teacher to create a social and emotional climate of care and respect that promotes each child's sense of trust, independence, and competence.
- Participate in case conferencing to develop a team approach in providing services to children and their families.
- Must be committed to continual learning and self-improvement through training and professional development.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 12 units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, including core courses.
- A minimum of 50 days/3 or more hours per day within 2 years in a child care center or setting.
- Must apply for the Child Development Associate Teacher's permit within 30 days of hire and maintain the permit.
- Complete 25 hours of professional growth annually.
The Associate Teacher will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, interacting with children, parents, and staff. The position requires flexibility and adaptability, as well as the ability to work variable hours and days.
