As a Consumer Protection Specialist I, you will play a critical role in enforcing state and federal regulations related to commerce, including scales and measuring devices used in trade and commerce, food safety, and fuel quality.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in enforcing state and federal rules and regulations, including model laws and guidelines.
- Collect and test samples, investigate violations, secure information, maintain reports, and prepare for emergency management noncompliance issues.
- Assist in prosecution and enforcement of regulations.
- Conduct scale inspections in the area, requiring a Class B Commercial Driver's License.
- Typically requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 0-1 years of experience.
- Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License to regularly operate a state vehicle.
- Exert force equivalent to lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye, give and receive information through speaking and listening skills, use the sense of smell to recognize and distinguish odors, and taste to recognize and distinguish flavors.
