About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Panthalassa, a public benefit corporation harnessing the power of the open ocean to generate clean energy. As a Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Systems, you will play a critical role in transitioning our node designs into high-volume manufacturing.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with our node design team to develop manufacturing strategies and processes
  • Characterizing processes to inform specification development and design best practices
  • Supporting the development of bespoke manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Contributing to the design and development of our node pilot line
  • Providing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback to the node design team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a hands-on mechanical/manufacturing/design engineer
  • Demonstrated understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, solid mechanics, material selection, prototyping, testing methods, and fabrication processes
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling, drafting, and PLM
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
