Our infrastructure is a unique blend of traditional and contemporary industrial assets, necessitating a professional with extensive knowledge in utilities and industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective communication regarding the status and requirements of your designated area with the RED-Rochester supervisory team and operational staff.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to create and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment efficiency and longevity.
- Assist in developing corrective maintenance plans to ensure timely repairs and maintain system reliability.
- Coordinate all maintenance shutdowns, both routine and emergency, ensuring proper notifications are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Document all maintenance activities and corrective actions within the RED-Rochester work order management system.
- Support any plant upgrades or modernization projects within your assigned areas.
- Oversee external contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality workmanship.
- Contribute to the development and execution of Health, Safety, and Environmental plans for your work locations.
- Participate in team efforts during major emergencies or significant operational failures.
- Utilize various equipment, including hoists, cranes, and other industrial tools, as required.
Technical Competencies:
- Familiarity with storm and sanitary sewer components, including underground structures and junctions.
- Experience with sewer diversion equipment and inspection tools, including vacuum trucks and remote camera systems.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Proven capability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in reading technical drawings.
- Adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience or equivalent military service.
- Preferred: Associate degree in a related field.
Certifications:
- Must obtain various safety operator licenses and certifications as required.
- Valid NYS driver's license is mandatory.
Work Environment:
- Industrial setting with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Work may involve physical demands, including lifting and navigating confined spaces.
