Scope of Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Janitorial Supervisor, the Lead Janitor will oversee all janitorial operations within the facilities. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in budget preparation for equipment purchases.
  • Managing inventory and ensuring efficient practices.
  • Conducting meetings to communicate essential information to custodial staff.
  • Establishing standards for custodial supplies in collaboration with the purchasing department.
  • Creating work schedules and coordinating tasks for custodians.
  • Evaluating staff performance to promote professional development.
  • Maintaining records of operations and submitting reports as required.
  • Monitoring cleaning standards and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Participating in the recruitment process for new staff.
  • Providing training and support to janitorial personnel.
  • Repairing janitorial equipment as necessary.
  • Reporting safety hazards and maintenance needs.
  • Researching and testing new cleaning methods and supplies.
  • Collaborating with management to assess site needs and recommend improvements.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be able to perform essential duties with or without accommodation. Physical tasks include sitting, walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting objects up to 40 lbs.
