About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Blood Collection Staff to join our team at the American Red Cross. As a Blood Collection Staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our team to transport and set up equipment at donation sites in local communities.
  • Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors.
  • Follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations.
  • Utilize your healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
  • A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.
  • Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.).
  • Prior leadership experience.
