Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Infection Preventionist to join our team at Wallingford Nursing & Rehab in Wallingford, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective infection prevention and control strategies to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) to ensure the quality of patient care as it relates to the investigation, control, and prevention of infections and communicable diseases.
  • Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention and control best practices, including new hire orientation and ongoing education programs.
  • Conduct surveillance and monitoring of infection rates and trends, and develop strategies to reduce and prevent infections.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and address infection control needs and develop solutions to improve patient care and safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest infection prevention and control guidelines and best practices, and apply this knowledge to inform program development and implementation.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of three years full-time or equivalent nursing experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet with employees working evening and night shifts.
  • Specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
