Qualifications

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is mandatory.
  • Over 10 years of engineering experience, including:
    • Designing HVAC and plumbing systems
    • Managing and designing multiple concurrent projects
    • Strong capability in interpreting technical drawings
    • Leading design team efforts
    • Overseeing project teams for budget and schedule management
    • Experience with Load Calculation Software
    • Proficiency in REVIT and CAD
    • Developing fee and qualification-based proposals
    • Local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) experience and relationships are advantageous
    • Active involvement in the local industry is a plus
Familiarity with Relevant Codes

Knowledge of mechanical, energy, and plumbing codes is essential to ensure that designs comply with all applicable regulations and client standards.

Additional Skills
  • Ability to read and prepare project drawings, including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Conduct HVAC calculations and analyses using standard industry software.
  • Energy modeling experience is beneficial.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Capability to lead interdisciplinary projects and teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
