Overview:


The Logistics Operations Supervisor II is tasked with overseeing the seamless daily operations of the logistics facility, focusing on the management of personnel and the execution of operational strategies.

This role is responsible for a logistics space ranging from 500,000 to over 1,000,000 sq. ft. Duties include monitoring equipment usage, ensuring adherence to maintenance schedules, and conducting team meetings. This position reports directly to the Distribution Center's General Manager.

Available Shift:
Monday-Friday 2pm to 11pm (2nd)

Responsibilities:
Operations Management
Develops a comprehensive operational strategy in collaboration with the General Manager to guarantee effective and economical use of the facility.

Ensures optimal scheduling for shipping and receiving to achieve operational targets.

Directs the activities of warehouse supervisors and staff.

Oversees all incoming and outgoing shipments to confirm accuracy and timely execution.

Conducts audits to ensure compliance with both internal and external standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Maximizes equipment efficiency.

Reviews daily objectives and assesses productivity requirements to meet overall facility goals.

Collaborates with other leaders to balance workforce levels according to daily demands.

Aligns personnel skills and backgrounds with job requirements.

Analyzes workload against labor hours and equipment availability.

Plans for long-term staffing needs based on sales forecasts and historical data.

Recommends initiatives to the General Manager aimed at enhancing warehouse operations.

Financial Management
Understands the financial implications of daily operational decisions.

Open to learning about financial management aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Generates productivity and labor reports to identify performance gaps.

Employee Relations and Development
Ensures daily pre-shift meetings address previous productivity, operational challenges, workload forecasts, and other relevant information.

Supports staffing needs and recruitment for all facility operations.

Guarantees proper onboarding for new hires, including completion of necessary documentation and adherence to a structured training program.

Communicates departmental and individual performance objectives to ensure operational success.

Maintains effective human resources practices with direct reports, adhering to established corporate policies.

Collaborates with the General Manager and Human Resources to address employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

Provides constructive feedback, coaching, and recognition to foster skill development.

Actively participates in employee development and talent acquisition.

Serves as a role model in support of corporate values and mission.


Regularly offers coaching and feedback on performance, prepares formal performance evaluations, and recommends annual compensation adjustments.

Demonstrates a commitment to personal development by staying informed about industry trends and tools.

Travels to other facilities and participates in departmental or company meetings as required.

Safety and Security
Ensures the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the logistics facility to meet service standards.

Actively engages in and supports all safety initiatives within the facility.

Implements safety and sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

Conducts safety observations to coach staff on safety practices.

Implements necessary improvements to procedures and facilities to prevent recurring incidents.

Oversees accident investigations, assesses root causes, and implements corrective actions.

Manages equipment and coordinates maintenance with local vendors.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

7+ years of supervisory experience in a large-scale logistics or distribution environment.

Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan preferred).

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge of warehouse and mechanical equipment.

Understanding of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, and FDA regulations, with a willingness to obtain certifications as needed.

Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Capable of managing shifting priorities and exercising sound judgment in high-pressure situations.

Experience with seasonal workforce management is advantageous but not mandatory.

Familiarity with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

Strong talent management and team-building capabilities.

Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.

Exceptional customer service skills, particularly with external clients.

Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Able and willing to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Must be capable of standing or walking for up to 10-12 hours.

Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below and above the waist.

Frequent walking throughout the facility, which may exceed a quarter mile in length.


Must be able to work in environments with varying noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature fluctuations, and access all areas of the building without restrictions.
