Position Overview
We are in search of a committed and passionate individual eager to advance their career in the field of Social Services.
The Family Support Specialist will deliver direct assistance to Child Welfare Professionals and Supervisors, aiding in the organization of daily case management tasks, in alignment with the regulations and guidelines set forth by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS).
This role may also involve supporting the planning and execution of Parent Education Programs, which may include providing childcare during these sessions as necessary.
Compensation and Benefits

Key Responsibilities
- Assist Child Welfare Professionals and Supervisors in the daily management of case activities, including the coordination and planning of parent training sessions, while providing childcare support when required.
- Foster and maintain professional, positive, and collaborative relationships with families.
- Timely documentation of case management activities using approved forms and databases. Act as a liaison between program staff and external entities (such as court representatives, IDCFS, and treatment providers) to communicate updates, request information, and manage necessary documentation related to assigned family cases.
- Conduct telephone outreach to participants on behalf of Child Welfare Professionals or Supervisors. Arrange or provide transportation for participants to ensure their engagement in services as outlined in family service plans.
- Stay informed about community resources that cater to the needs of children, youth, and families, and effectively utilize these resources through referrals and follow-ups.
- Promptly report any situations that may pose a risk to staff, participants, or the agency, in accordance with the agency's Incident/Accident Reporting procedures.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Intact Family Supervisor.
