Overview

Under the supervision of the Recreation Program Supervisor, the Pickleball Coach is responsible for designing, leading, and assessing pickleball clinics, programs, leagues, and training sessions, along with other related pickleball activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, instruct, and assess pickleball programs and clinics.
  • Deliver instructional sessions to individuals and small groups.
  • Engage with participants of varying skill levels and assist them in achieving their objectives.
  • Oversee equipment usage and communicate requirements to the supervisor.
  • Accurately complete necessary documentation.
  • Participate in training sessions and educational classes as required.
  • Follow all safety protocols and attend mandatory training sessions.

Qualifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of pickleball rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Experience in playing pickleball.
  • American Red Cross CPR certification for the Professional Rescuer or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • Capability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Effective communication skills in both oral and written formats.
  • Aptitude for interacting with the public.
  • Basic computer and office skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • A minimum of two years of pickleball experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Demands

This position may require occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; regular activities include speaking, hearing, and using hands for various tasks. It may also involve standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Vision adjustments and vocal communication are essential for effective interaction. The role may involve exposure to humid conditions and requires adherence to safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment. The work environment is typically moderately noisy.
