Job Overview

The Automation Controls Electrician plays a crucial role in the assembly of robotic systems, focusing on the wiring of control panels, electrical assembly, and system setup according to engineering schematics. Familiarity with automation systems is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, and label electrical panels or automation control systems
  • Interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical manuals while performing tasks with minimal oversight
  • Conduct system startups with minimal errors
  • Assist in machine assembly and the installation of robotic systems
  • Document all service activities and report updates to management
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in optimal condition
  • Keep the workspace clean and organized
  • Work efficiently without sacrificing quality to reduce downtime


Work Environment

  • Most tasks are carried out in the Automation Motion facility.
  • Travel may be required for system installations and startups at client locations, including overnight stays.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Vocational training, completed apprenticeship, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician or Automation Controls Technician.
  • Experience with conveyors, automation machinery, robotics, or servo-driven systems is preferred.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, panel schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience in creating, assembling, and installing wire harnesses.
  • Proficient in building and wiring electrical control panels.
  • Capable of using electrical tools, hand tools, and power tools effectively.
  • Strong understanding of all relevant code requirements.
  • Commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks in demanding environments.
  • Demonstrates pride in workmanship.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possesses a flexible attitude and is a team player.
  • Effective multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform well under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet usage.
