Logistics Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Coordinator to oversee our company's transportation-related activities. This role requires exceptional leadership skills and the ability to maintain high standards of customer service.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of transportation management systems and excellent analytical skills. They will be responsible for monitoring routes, providing team support, and directing operational processes associated with traffic and transport logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor routes to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Provide team support and direction to ensure efficient operations.
  • Direct all operational processes associated with traffic and transport logistics.
  • Plan, organize, and manage subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed to company standards.
  • Ensure efficient deliveries, including timely arrival, correct product, and good condition.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in logistics transport to optimize customer service, business profitability, and productivity.
  • Supervise carriers and provide real-time solutions in case of incidents during delivery.
  • Schedule vehicle fleet maintenance, repairs, and overhauls.
  • Maintain DC equipment in good condition and schedule repairs as needed.
  • Ensure all units meet 5S standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on logistics and transport processes.
  • Control transport costs.
  • Ensure all stores are closed on Smart Delivery and all returns are credited on WMS.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Three years of commercial transportation experience, including experience dispatching commercial vehicles on fixed and variable route assignments.
  • Experience maintaining DOT files, reviewing driver performances, and disciplining when necessary.
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity is desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, warehouse management software (Word, Excel, Microsoft TEAMS, WMS).
  • Willingness to travel for training or to assist other DC.
  • Cross-departmental collaboration to improve communication and business performance.

Work Environment:

Employees work in an unconditioned warehouse environment with varying temperatures and frequent exposure to outside elements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour
