Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hospital Medicine Physician to provide medical expertise and oversight of care within our healthcare system. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Key responsibilities include attending hospital multidisciplinary rounds, providing admission services, and collaborating with attending physicians and other treatment team members to ensure seamless patient care.

Key Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Medicine
  • Current state medical license
  • Current Federal Drug Enforcement Agency license
  • Staff privileges at all the hospitals for which coverage is being provided
  • Board certified or Board eligible
  • Basic Cardiac Life Certification or Advanced Cardiac Life Certification

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to address issues and concerns in a timely fashion

Principal Accountabilities

  • Attend and actively participate in hospital multidisciplinary rounds
  • Provide admission services for the Emergency Department and incoming transfer patients
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and other treatment team members to ensure seamless patient care
  • Provide co-management services for subspecialty services
  • Provide consultative services for members of the Medical Staff

Additional Responsibilities

  • Accept transfers of care from other clinical service lines
  • Provide timely evaluation of patients admitted to the hospital
  • Abide by Hospital tenants, guidelines, and bylaws
  • Provide physician-to-physician sign out for patients transitioning to post-acute facilities
  • Document History and Physicals within 12 hours
  • Document Discharge Summaries within 48 hours of discharge order

Requirements

  • Maintain current understanding of the regulatory environment related to status and status patients
  • Provide post-discharge coverage for appropriate home health orders
  • Encourage in-network utilization of resources for continuity of care
  • Respond to clinical queries in a timely fashion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certification in Hospital Medicine
  • Experience working in a hospital setting
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to patient care
