Job Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Continuing Studies is seeking a highly skilled Thoracic Pathology Fellow to join our team. As a Diagnostic Surgical Pathologist, you will work in the busy thoracic pathology subspecialty of our surgical pathology division, providing pathologic support services to a dynamic cardiothoracic surgical program with an active heart and lung transplant program.

Responsibilities:
• Perform the duties of a thoracic diagnostic surgical pathologist in the department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
• Participate in multidisciplinary conferences
• Complete at least one research, educational, or quality improvement project during the fellowship

Requirements:
• A competitive, all-around educational experience designed to develop outstanding diagnostic and leadership skills in thoracic and transplant-related pathology
• Advanced training in thoracic and transplant-related pathology
• Proficiency in the work-up and diagnosis of routine and complex cases including frozen sections, immunohistochemistry, electron microscopy, and molecular diagnostics related to neoplastic and non-neoplastic thoracic pathology

The one-year non-ACGME certified fellowship provides a unique opportunity to develop your skills in thoracic and transplant pathology. You will work with a team of experienced pathologists and have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including telepathology and whole slide imaging software. The department also benefits from a strong in-house molecular diagnostics laboratory.
