Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - NICU Float RRT

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the NICU at a leading healthcare facility in Albuquerque, NM.

Job Summary:

This is a 13-26 week contract opportunity for a Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in the NICU. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience and be certified as an RRT. The position requires the ability to work night shifts, with a maximum expectation of working no more than three consecutive weekends.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory care to patients in the NICU, including endotracheal suctioning, extubation, and nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning.
  • Float to adult respiratory units as needed and provide care within the scope of practice.
  • Work weekends as required by the unit, with a maximum expectation of working no more than three consecutive weekends.
  • Perform procedures such as sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy suctioning, pulmonary toileting, and ABG interpretation.
  • Adhere to a facility's scrub color requirement of royal blue.
  • Utilize Cerner for charting and documentation.
  • Comply with the facility's compliance requirements, including completing drug screens, modules, and orientation in a timely manner.
  • Be prepared to accommodate varying schedules and meet all compliance document deadlines.
  • Personal transportation is required due to location constraints; public transportation and ridesharing are not available.
  • Manage and execute responsibilities in a Level I Trauma, Teaching, Children's Hospital, and short-term acute care setting.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Certified as an RRT.
  • NM License (pending license accepted).
  • Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS, NRP.
  • COVID vaccination required (religious and medical exemptions accepted with completion of exemption form signed by a provider).
  • Trauma Level I experience.
