The role of the Certified Radiation Therapist is crucial in the treatment of patients with neoplastic diseases. This position requires a professional who is adept at operating equipment that delivers ionizing radiation safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality radiation therapy procedures in accordance with established protocols.
- Conduct pretreatment preparations, including simulations and the creation of treatment devices.
- Execute daily quality assurance checks on linear accelerators and CT simulators.
- Utilize hospital and Radiation Oncology EMR systems for documenting patient treatment and coordinating care.
- Maintain flexibility to participate in on-call procedures as necessary.
- Provide compassionate support and education to patients, ensuring they are informed and comfortable throughout their treatment.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Licensure: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and licensure in the state of New Mexico or eligibility for licensure is required.
Certifications: CPR certification is mandatory.
