Position Overview: The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for supervising the daily operations of vehicle maintenance at either the northern or southern facility. This role ensures that all buses are properly maintained to meet the operational demands of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise the daily functions of the vehicle maintenance department at the designated garage.

2. Provide guidance during emergency situations that arise in daily operations.

3. Monitor fleet reliability by addressing failures and implementing effective repair solutions.

4. Ensure the fleet is maintained to the highest standards through regular condition assessments and repair procedures.

5. Analyze breakdowns and equipment conditions, reporting findings to senior management and exploring repair options.

6. Oversee the performance of contractors involved in radio systems maintenance.

7. Collaborate with transportation contractors to uphold vehicle maintenance policies and practices.

8. Consult with equipment manufacturers and vendors regarding maintenance challenges.

9. Contribute to the procurement process for capital equipment.

10. Uphold safety management protocols by adhering to safety policies and reporting any concerns.

Qualifications:

- A degree in Electronic Technology, Business, Public Administration, or a related field is required. Relevant experience may substitute for educational qualifications on a year-for-year basis, up to two years.

- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in transportation maintenance operations, particularly with electronic technology.

- At least three years of supervisory or leadership experience in transit maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair methodologies, building maintenance practices, and quality assurance processes.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.

- Proven organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and making timely decisions.

- Proficiency in software applications such as Word, Excel, Infor, Oracle, and project management tools.
